Simple Steps to Keep Safe During the COVID-19 Outbreak

From day one, Frase Protection has been committed to keeping you, your teams and your loved ones safe. And never has that been more important than right now.

We’re carefully monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak so we can best serve and protect our customers, our staff and our community as a whole. To us, that means staying open and continuing to deliver the services you need and expect —everything from new alarm system installations to repairs and updates to doorbell cameras, smartphone control features and more.

Ensuring timely installation and upgrade services, though, is just the beginning. Here’s how we’re curbing COVID-19 in our own Frase community, and what you can do to help keep your family and your colleagues safe and healthy.

Understand what COVID-19 is—and isn’t

There’s lots of information swirling around and, sometimes, it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. The reality? COVID-19 is one of many coronaviruses. Coronaviruses are common causes of colds and upper respiratory infections—in fact, there’s a good chance you’ve had coronavirus before...just not this coronavirus.

Some types of coronavirus are more severe. SARS, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, and MERS, Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome, for example, are caused by coronaviruses. But SARS and MERS spread less rapidly than COVID-19.

With that in mind it’s hard to say how COVID-19 will manifest in a person. Most kids and teens develop very mild cases, if they show any noticeable symptoms at all. People over 60 and those with compromised immune systems, on the other hand, may develop more severe symptoms and even require hospitalization and intervention.

A healthy adult, though, will typically experience mild to moderate symptoms such as coughing, fatigue, fever, body aches and chills, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat and headache. In most cases, these symptoms can be managed using over-the-counter medication readily available at pharmacies, drug stores, and supermarkets.

This company is awesome. I had trouble with an alarm going off constantly after hours (dust in alarm) and they sent someone out immediately to take care of it and get the alarm turned off. A technician came the next day and fixed the errant alarm!!

Know what we’re doing to protect our team and customers—and do the same

We want to ensure our staff and our customers are healthy and safe. To do that, we’ve implemented a number of new policies at Frase, including mandating all team members with flu-like symptoms stay home and get well. Anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 will be expected to observe the 14-day quarantine required by the CDC. We’re also practicing “social distancing” in our own office and in the field. While we’re always happy to see you—and see one another—handshakes, high fives, pats on the back and other more physical greetings are off the table for the time being. Expect a friendly wave and thumbs up, and we’ll get to work.

While in the office and onsite at customer locations, we’ll also be increasing our own best practices surrounding general hygiene and cleanliness. You may see our teams wiping down surfaces, tools and work spaces before or after installations, and frequently hand-washing and sanitizing as they work. If you see our team take these extra steps—or even wear a protective mask or gloves while working—don’t worry. It’s just a precaution to keep you and our crew safe and healthy.

How To Wash Your Hands Frase Protection. Coronavirus

Keep safe—in every sense of the word

To us, though, staying safe during the COVID-19 outbreak means more than just hand-washing and keeping an eye out for symptoms. Chances are, there are more people in and around your property now more than ever - Everyone from delivery teams dropping off groceries and other staples, to in-house medical and nursing services, tutors, and kids out of school and hanging in the neighborhood.

While there’s no threat to having more people on your property and in your immediate neighborhood, many homeowners like to have the added peace of mind of monitoring the activity in and around their home. Working from home now? Install a door camera and see when it’s “just FedEx,” versus a friend or neighbor versus a door-to-door salesman—or someone who doesn’t belong there, even.

As we’ve heard over and over, with more deliveries coming to your doors, more schools closing their doors and more people working from home, our customers have a heightened interest in having 24/7 monitoring. Consider it an extra set of eyes, 100% focused to keep tabs on their property and its immediate surroundings.

These are just some of the preventive measures we’re taking to keep our business and the community at large safe, secure and in-the-know. Check back for updates or contact us to see what Frase is doing to keep you safe.
